Getting the right job - via SMS

Every month Career Times receives complaints from jobseekers about companies and recruitment agencies who do not contact them to let them know if their applications have been unsuccessful. Just this week, a reader complained that she received only four responses to approximately 200 applications and has been left wondering whether her applications are even being considered.
SMS JobMatch acts as a facilitator between jobseekers and recruitment agencies. Agencies enter details of jobs on the system and jobseekers enter details of their job requirements. SMS JobMatch matches the jobs to the jobseekers. When a match is found, the system sends an SMS to the jobseeker with the contact details of the agency that has the matching job. The jobseeker must then contact the agency and the traditional placement process will progress from there.
